Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - A Dalton, Ga., man has filed a lawsuit against the city of Chattanooga, Tenn., and its police department alleging racial profiling.
The Chattanooga Times Free Press ( reports Jose Molina says in the lawsuit filed Friday that he was stopped for "driving while Hispanic" last July. He was charged with driving under the influence at the time of his arrest, but those charges were dropped in January after tests found no alcohol or other intoxicants in his system. He is seeking $500,000.
His attorney says the charges were pursued even though no evidence of his client's guilt was found.
Chattanooga police spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig said police would not comment on the lawsuit.
