A good, and bad week for chicken in Chattanooga

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Do you have dinner out plans for the weekend?

We have the Hamilton County Health Department's most recent report card. More than 25 restaurants were paid a visit this week and the good news: no failing grades.

Remember, a failing grade in anything below a 70. This week's low score is a 78, and according to Chief Inspector Jack Falcon a lot of structural problems in the kitchen at Chatt Fried Chicken on Tunnel Boulevard.

Inspectors tell me the kitchen needs repairing, with  floors, walls and ceiling in need of  work. There was also grease dripping from an overhead cooking vent, food items were not properly covered.

But the high score of the week has this team clucking with pride at the Zaxby's on Highway 58. How about a score of 98!

By the way if you have a complaint about a restaurant, hotel or motel, daycare center swimming pool, call the Hamilton County Health Department Complaint Line at (423) 209-8110 . Have a great weekend!
