NASHVILLE (WRCB) -- Tennessee's unemployment rate for February was 7.8%, up from January's 7.7%.

Nationally, the unemployment rate for February 2013 was 7.7%, down from January's 7.9%.

The state's February unemployment rate marks the lowest February rate since 2008. During the past year, Tennessee's unemployment rate declined from 8.0% to 7.8%.

Total non-farm employment increased 11,400 jobs from January to February, which is a seasonally adjusted figure.
