CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- A Federal Grand Jury indicted two people in an extensivefraud crime.
Documents state Angela Christine Stahl and Emanuel Joyce-Elare cashed counterfeit payroll checks at various grocery store acrossTennessee.
Thechecks were inthe account names of "YMCA of Chattanooga, TN," "Goodwill
IndustriesCorp.," "Salvation Army of North America," "United Way ofChattanooga," "Urgent
Care - FamilyMedicine, LLC," "Jiffy Lube Corporation of America,""Tennessee Moving
ServiceCo.," and other businesses and organizations.
Inaddition, they used stolen social security numbers to get fake driver'slicenses and would use the ids to cash the checks.
Thedefendants were indicted on 38 counts of conspiracy to represent false socialsecurity numbers, misrepresentation of social securitynumber, possessing and uttering acounterfeit security and identity theft.
Theyare due for their initial appearance Wednesday afternoon.
