Man hospitalized after falling into northwest Georgia toilet pit
By Associated Press
CHATSWORTH, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a man fell five feet into a toilet pit at a park in northwest Georgia and was trapped for more than an hour.
The Dalton Daily Citizen reported Tuesday that the unidentified man was standing atop a toilet on the south side of Carters Lake Saturday and fell through an opening into a pit where human waste is left to decompose.
Lisa Parker, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, says the man was trapped for about 70 minutes. Parker says the man was taken to the Murray Medical Center and information on his condition was not available.
