Community holds Stop the Violence rally in Chattanooga

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Members of the community are calling on the public to stop the violence.

Organizers of the Stop the Violence rally say it's important to provide the youth with positive activities and events like this to help curb the recent spike in violence.

Attendees Sunday night were able to enjoy multiple performances, hear motivational speakers, and take in a number of dance routines.

Stop the Violence organizer Latoya Holloman says she's seen an amazing response from the community and has no plans on stopping.

"I'm gonna keep empowering these kids, and I'm not going to stop. This will not be the last of the Stop the Violence rallies; I'm gonna do one every year until the word is reached and we bring in as many youth as we can."

Holloman did say she is planning a talent show in the near future -- but has not set an exact date yet.
