UPDATE 2: WBIR is reporting that firefighters have reduced the massive fire to about half its previous size as of this morning.

Black Hawk helicopters, loaned by the Tennessee Army National Guard, airlifted water from nearby Douglas Lake to battle the flames.

UPDATE: The wildfires in Sevier County near Pigeon Forge prompted state officials to declare a State of Emergency Monday morning.

The fire in Sevier County, which began Sunday afternoon, has damaged or destroyed 35 structures and covers more than 130 acres.

There are no reports of fatalities or injuries at this time. About 150 people have been evacuated from the area and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The Sevier County declared a State of Emergency for the county Sunday and is working with numerous local fire departments and state agencies to contain the fire.

PIGEON FORGE, TN (News Sentinel) --  At least 30 cabins in a Sevier County resort area were damaged by a 130-acre wildfire Sunday evening, authorities said.

Nathan Waters, a spokesman with the Tennessee Division of Forestry, said late Sunday night that the fire had jumped Lost Branch Road and was threatening more cabins.

"There's hundreds of cabins and rentals up here," Waters said. "They are so close together they are going up like dominoes. Just one after the other."

Firefighters were expecting to battle the blaze through the night. Waters said authorities were hoping to get some help today from a rainy forecast.
