Rock City transforms into Shamrock City for St. Paddy's Day

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- This weekend, Rock City transformed into "Shamrock City" for Saint Patrick's Day.

Live music was on tap all weekend, along with, of course, Irish beer.

This is the first year "Shamrock City" will run two weekends, so the waterfall will be green again next weekend along with green kettle korn, fudge, cotton candy and several other family activities.

Organizers say it's growing in popularity and this weekend's beautiful weather brought thousands of visitors.

"There's something for all ages. We've got kids activities. We have Big River beer. We have tons of Irish food and even Irish jig lessons if you want to get a little jiggy," says special events director Kim Jackson.

Shamrocks are also for sale to raise money for the Muscular Distrophy Association.
