CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Hold onto your hat this afternoon! Winds will be picking up later today.
Through the day, cool air will be moving in with light northwesterly winds. That will keep highs in the low 50s today.
The winds will increase to 10-20 mph through the afternoon. Combine that with the cooler air, and there will be a bite to the air late today.
In the mountains, we could see higher wind speeds in excess of 25 mph.

The winds will die down tonight, but the chilly air will stay with us through Thursday with lows in the 20s and highs in the 50s.
We will warm quite a bit Friday into the weekend with highs climbing to 70.
Meanwhile, pollen counts are extremely heavy today with the latest count at 910 (anything above 120 is extremely heavy)
