Proposal for clean water authority hits setback

Posted: Updated:

(WRCB) - Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield's proposal for a clean water authority has hit a setback.

The measure would have required state lawmaker's approval, allowing local government's participation in regional water authority on a voluntary basis.

State Senator Todd Gardenhire sponsored the bill.

This week he referred the measure from the Senate floor back to a Senate committee saying the plan had been met with some opposition.
