Whitfield Co. deputy arrested on theft charges

WHITFIELD COUNTY, GA (WRCB) -- A Whitfield County deputy has been arrested on theft charges.

On March 5, the Georgia Bureau of Investigations was notified of allegations against Deputy James Keown.

GBI officials investigated the allegations and an arrest warrant was issued for Keown.

Keown turned himself in Whitfield County authorities on charges of theft and violation of oath by public officer.

He has since been released.
