HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -- The Hamilton County 911 center has, through the years, made major improvements to help save the lives of people needing help.
The center has worked for years improving itself.
Officials built a central location for calls, put everyone on the same network for communication and created a unified system...
Now, in the last four years, the number of abandoned calls dropped from about 15 percent to less than one percent.
Board Chairman Dona Allen, doesn't give the majority of credit to the equipment.
"That's by having adequate trained people in the center 24 hours a day -- calls from citizens and those passing through."
Allen says the data is very good news for everyone and that operators should be proud of how they're serving their neighbors.
