Registered sex offender wanted in Alabama theft case

JACKSON COUNTY, AL. (WRCB) -- The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is asking for information on the thefts of eight vehicles from businesses near Henagar, Alabama.

A lead left a Jackson County deputy on the trail of 43-year-old Phillip Clanton.

Investigators have obtained warrants in this case, but have not been able to locate him.

Clanton, a registered sex offender, is wanted for receiving stolen property.

The sheriff's office says more arrests are expected.
