Decision to be made on possible runoff in District 9 City Council race

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - The Hamilton County Election Commission will meet at 8:00 a.m. Thursday to decide on whether a runoff in the Chattanooga District 9 Council race is required.

Six votes separated current Councilman Peter Murphy and former Councilman Yusuf Hakeem.

The 50% plus one requirement was not met.

Hamilton County Elections administrator Charlotte Mullis-Morgan said provisional ballots were opened, but no ballots were cast in District 9.
