DALTON, GA (WRCB) -- A fatal automobile crash Wednesday morning claimed the life of 25 year-old Timothy Parker from Jamesville, NY.
Dalton Police Department's Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the incident which occurred at 6:19 a.m. on Chattanooga Road, north of N. Tibbs Road.
Parker was attempting to cross Chattanooga Road on foot when he was struck by Johnny Montgomery who was traveling south on Chattanooga Road.
A witness at the scene told officers Parker was attempting to cross Chattanooga Road from the Baymount Inn to the BP gas station at the intersection of Chattanooga Road and N. Tibbs Road when he was struck.
It was dark and Parker was wearing dark clothing at the time of the crash.
Parker was transported to Hamilton Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. Montgomery was not injured in the crash.
The accident is still under investigation.
