(WRCB) - The Georgia General Assembly has approved a $19.3 billion midyear budget, which now awaits a signature from Governor Nathan Deal.
The budget, which runs through June 30th, includes an extra $167 million for local school districts and fills a $200 million shortfall in Georgia's Health Care Program for the poor, elderly and disabled.
The midyear budget does not include any cuts associated with automatic federal funding cuts that went into effect March 1.
