Cold and Windy, Light Snow

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- If we can get through today, awesome weather is just around the corner!

Today we have cold, blustery weather in store.  This morning, we have temps in the upper 20s in the mountains and low 30s in the valleys.  We will have some patchy areas of ice this morning, especially in the mountains.

Moving through the day, we will see the winds persisting at 15-30 mph with higher wind gusts.  A WIND ADVISORY is in effect until 4pm.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY ADVISORY is in effect until 1pm for the Blue Ridge (7pm for Cherokee County) and the northern end of the plateau.  We could see 1-2" of accumulation through the day.

Okay, let's talk tomorrow!  Skies will clear out and winds will die down overnight.  We will start Thursday with chilly air.  Lows will once again be in the upper 20s and low 30s, but with no snow and lighter winds it will not be as uncomfortable.  Tomorrow afternoon we will sport sunshine and highs in the mid 50s.

We will even climb into the low 60s Friday into the weekend!

Another chance of rain will move in Monday.
