CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- An apartment fire displaces several families in Chattanooga Tuesday.
Chattanooga Fire says a fire was reported at The Courts at Waterford on Shallowford Road around 3 p.m.
Firefighters say the fire was in the attic and walls of the apartment and they had to cut into the walls to put it out.
Some of the residents of the apartment say they heard lightning strike the apartment shortly before the fire started.
Seven of the eight units were occupied. All the residents were temporarily displaced.
Red Cross was called to assist.
The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
