FORT VALLEY, Ga. (WRCB) -- The first-ever trip to the GHSA state Final Four is producing more history for Gordon Lee girls basketball.
Kassidy Blevins scored 25 points to lead the Lady Trojans to a 57-49 win over Towns County in Friday's Class A Public School state semifinals Friday afternoon at Fort Valley State University.
The win sends Gordon Lee to its first-ever state championship game next week.
Blevins scored 23 points in the second half, including 16 in the fourth quarter, to help the sixth-ranked Lady Trojans pull off the upset. Gordon Lee (24-7) also beat second-seeded Towns County in overtime earlier this season.
The Lady Trojans advance to face either Wilkinson County or Randolph-Clay in next Thursday's state final, which will tip at 3 p.m. ET at the Macon Centerplex.
