A 68 and roaches give a local eatery a failing grade

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Hamilton County Restaurant Inspectors hit the streets again this week. According to Chief Inspector Jack Falcon 29 restaurants were visited and we do have a failing grade to pass along to you.

Remember, anything below a seventy fails. The low score is an 68 at China Lee on Dayton Boulevard.

Inspectors found roaches throughout the kitchen, dirty floors, employees not washing their hands, coolers that were damaged, along with meat and seafood not properly covered.

They were also not disposing of the kitchen waste water properly. Apparently workers were just throwing it into the parking lot.

Once again they score a 68. They have ten days to correct all critical violations.

The high score of the week at 97 once again to a Subway Restaurant. This time it's the Subway on Taft Highway. Congratulations!

If you have a complaint or question about a restaurant, health club, school or daycare, call the Hamilton County Health Department Hot Line at (423) 209-8110.

You can always email here at the station and I will pass along your compliant.

Have a great weekend and enjoy your meal!
