CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Could the stereotype of a late season snowfall take place? Maybe a mild version of it this weekend.
Through Saturday we will be under the influence of the same low pressure system that brought blizzard conditions from the Plains to the Great Lakes.
For us, it means cool, breezy weather today. Highs will be in the mid 40s, but it will feel cooler than that with winds from the WNW at 10-15 mph. We saw a few light overnight flurries, and may see that again tonight into Friday morning as lows drop into the low to mid 30s.
Late Friday, we will have a decent shot at seeing some mixed precipitation popping up that will change over into light snow showers heading into Saturday morning.
We could see some accumulation around the area through Saturday morning.
Right now, the model data suggests 1-2" in the higher elevations and about .50" in the valleys.
The only area of concern in terms of road conditions will be in the mountains on Saturday morning as temps drop into the upper 20s. In the valleys, temps should stay just above freezing.
