Bradley Central 63, Cleveland 55
CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WRCB) --
Rivals Cleveland and Bradley Central met three times previously this season on the boys' hardwood, but their fourth and final meeting mattered the most.

Bryce Copeland scored 22 points and the visiting Bears ended the Blue Raiders' season with a 63-55 win in the semifinals of the Region 3-AAA Tournament.

Bradley Central advances to face Ooltewah in Thursday's championship game. The Owls beat Walker Valley 69-57 in the other semifinal. Bradley and Ooltewah also clinched spots in next week's sub-state sectional round.

Copeland hit four 3-pointers led three Bears in double figures, scoring seven of his 22 points in the final period to help seal the win. Daniel Clark also hit four 3-pointers off the bench and finished with 13 points, while Logan Cox added 11.

Bradley used a late second-quarter surge to open a 33-29 halftime advantage, then pushed the lead to seven early in the third quarter.

C.J. Bryant led the Cleveland rally with a pair of steals to produce four quick points, then found Jahmal Johnson open underneath for a tomahawk slam that tied the game at 42-all.

The Bears led by three to start the fourth quarter, and opened the period with back-to-back 3-pointers from Copeland and Clark to open their biggest lead of the game at 53-44.

Cleveland managed to cut the deficit to three with two minutes to play, but Copeland and Matthew Whitmire combined to make six free throws down the stretch to help the Bears seal the win.

Kendrick Thompson led the Blue Raiders with 17 points. Johnson added 14 and Bryant finished with 13 in the final game of his high school career.

Howard 52, Central 41
ATHENS, Tenn. (WRCB) --
Brandon Walters and Cudjoe Young combined to score 30 points to help Howard beat Chattanooga Central 52-41 in the semifinals of the Region 3-AA Tournament at McMinn County High School.

The Hustlin' Tigers' fourth win this season over the Purple Pounders sets up a showdown with fellow district champ McMinn Central in Thursday night's championship game. The Chargers beat Brainerd 55-47 in the other semifinal.

David Holley scored seven of Central's first nine points to push the Pounders to a quick 9-4 lead, but he scored just two the rest of the way. Cudjoe Young hit a 3-pointer to start the second period to give Howard an 11-9 lead, and the Hustlin' Tigers never trailed again.

Walters and Young finished with 15 points apiece, while Walters added 13 rebounds. Howard's defense held Central to single digits in each of the first three quarters, allowing the Hustlin' Tigers to build a 15-point advantage entering the final period.

Colton Morgan was the only Central player in double figures with 13 points.
