CHATTANOOGA (WRCB/SOCON) -- University of Tennessee at Chattanooga forward Ashlen Dewart is the Southern Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season.
The junior standout received the honor Tuesday after averaging 18 points and nine rebounds in two Lady Mocs' wins over the past week.
Dewart led all scorers with 24 points in Monday's win over Davidson, which helped UTC clinch its first SoCon regular season title since 2010. For the week, she shot 17-of-22 from the field and grabbed eight of her 18 rebounds on the offensive end.
Dewart currently leads the SoCon with a .534 field goal percentage, and ranks third in scoring at (15.9 points per game) and ninth in rebounding (6.9). Monday's 24-point effort was her tenth game of 20 points or more, and she has recorded six double-doubles.
Dewart last claimed the honor in mid-December, which was also the last time a Chattanooga player earned the award. The Lady Mocs have won 15 straight games since that point.
Taylor Hall is the only other UTC player to win it this year.
