Driver charged with "selling" school bus

KNOXVILLE, TN (AP) -- The Knox County school system has removed a man from its list of approved bus drivers after his arrest on a theft charge involving a bus.

The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/XT77Zi ) reported 61-year-old Hillman Greenlee was charged Friday and was released on bond.

Knoxville police were called Wednesday morning when bus No. 117 was reported stolen from the bus lot on Prosser Road. It was found abandoned in Anderson County hours later.

Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk said Greenlee is accused of selling the bus for $1,200 while the bus owner was out of town.

The county school system uses contractors to run most bus routes.
