Small fire causes scary moments at Chattanooga apartment complex

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Some scary moments early Sunday afternoon at City Green Apartments in Chattanooga.

Around 1:00p.m. Chattanooga firefighters responded to a fire call at one of the buildings. 

A renter had emptied an ashtray on the back deck which in turned ignited a fire that spread to the back two walls. 

Residents were evacuated as a precaution.

Firefighters had the fire quickly under control.

No injuries were reported.

The damage is estimated to be $500.
