Police respond to shooting on Buena Vista Drive

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Chattanooga Police are on the scene of a shooting on Buena Vista Drive in Chattanooga.

Friday afternoon, police and emergency personnel responded to a dispatch call of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest of an unnamed man.

The victim was transported to Erlanger where his condition is unknown at this time.

CPD Cpt. David Woolsey said the wound didn't appear to be self-inflicted, which is contrary to the original dispatch call.

The shooting may be accidental, but will be investigated to determine the cause.
