Firefighters quick response saves home from extensive damage

EAST RIDGE, HAMILTON CO., TN (WRCB) - Quick action by East Ridge firefighters kept a house fire from being worse than it could have been.

Officials tell Channel 3 they received the call just before 9:30 Thursday night of a house fire in the 700 block of Donaldson Road.

Firefighters arrived on the scene in less than five minutes and were able to contain the fire to the bedroom on the second floor.

All three people inside the residence were able to get out of the house safely.

Investigators say the fire started after a burning candle fell off a night stand.

Damages are estimated at $35,000.
