Former Hamilton County Corrections officer indicted on official conduct and theft charges

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - A former Hamilton County Corrections sergeant accused of stealing an inmate's food card now faces criminal charges.

A Grand Jury has indicted Wanda Smith for official misconduct and theft of property.

We've been following this story since November, when a former inmate made the accusations.

Sheriff Jim Hammond told Channel 3 video evidence linked Wanda Smith to the crime.

Smith was an employee of the Hamilton County Jail for more than ten years
