
Bradley Central 52, Cleveland 43
CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WRCB) -- Brooke Copeland and Rebecca Reuter combined for 33 points and 27 rebounds to help Bradley Central pull away in the second half for a 52-43 win at rival Cleveland in the championship game of the District 5-AAA tournament.
Copeland had 19 points and Reuter added 14 as the third-ranked Bearettes beat the Lady Raiders for the third time this season. It's the third straight 5-AAA tourney title, as well, for Bradley Central.
Both teams advance to host region quarterfinal games this Friday. The Bearettes (25-2) will host Cumberland County, while the Lady Raiders (18-9) will welcome White County.
The game was tied at 28 at the half, but Cleveland mustered just 15 points after the break. They still trailed by just one, 37-36, with five minutes to play, but Bradley Central used a 10-2 run over the next four minutes to put the game away.
Sydnie Anderson led Cleveland with 16 points, while Qetuwrah Abdullah-Muhammed added 11.
McMinn County beat Walker Valley 44-39 in the 5-AAA consolation game earlier Monday. The Lady Cherokees will travel to Coffee County on Friday, and Walker Valley will play at district 6-AAA champ Cookeville.
