EAST RIDGE, HAMILTON CO., TN (WRCB) - The East Ridge City Council is looking for a new city manager.
Former City Manager Tim Gobble resigned last week.
Last night council members decided to bypass hiring an interim for the post in favor of advertising to fill the position permanently.
In the meantime, Deputy City Manager, Police and Fire Chief, Eddie Phillips will fill the role.
The council voted to pay Phillips an additional 1-thousand dollars a month on top of his current salary until the position is filled.
East Ridge mayor Brent Lambert says the city will put out an ad seeking a qualified city manager candidate with a bachelor of public administration degree, with 3-5 years of municipal government experience.
The city will accept applications for the next 6 weeks.
