Man accused of sexually assaulting girls met in church

HAMILTON COUNTY, TN. (WRCB) – A Hamilton County man is charged with statutory rape, after allegedly assaulting girls he met at church.

Sheriff's office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson says investigators believe 39-year-old Gabriele Wayne Erickson sexually assaulted at least two underage girls.

Atkinson says he met the girls while attending Community Baptist Church in Lakesite.

Erickson was arrested Sunday.

The investigation is ongoing.
