CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – Firefighters saved the life of a Chattanooga man Saturday morning.
It happened at Boynton Terrace Apartments around 7:00 a.m.
Fire spokesman Bruce Garner says firefighters rushed to the seventh floor, where they heard a popping noise in one of the units.
They went inside the smoke-filled apartment and found a man sleeping in his bed. He was carried outside and given oxygen, before he was taken to Erlanger.
Firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading beyond the kitchen.
Garner says the resident, whose name is unknown, didn't have an audible alarm.
The cause is under investigation.
