Red Bank couple escape fire

RED BANK, TN. (WRCB) – A house fire in Red Bank is under investigation Sunday.

It happened in the 200 block of Lancaster Avenue around 9:30 a.m.

Hamilton County EMS spokeswoman Amy Maxwell says firefighters saw flames on the back of the house and contained them to the kitchen and den.

The homeowners, Hubert and Reecie Reneger, smelled smoke coming from the kitchen and were able to escape uninjured.

The fire caused about $50,000 in damages.

The Renegers are insured and will be staying with family.
