KNOXVILLE, TN. (AP) - Contractors have cleared a rockslide that closed one lane of a route from Knoxville's airport into the downtown area.
Tennessee Department of Transportation officials said in a statement that all northbound lanes on the Alcoa Highway had reopened by Friday evening. One lane of the highway had been closed since a rockslide on Jan. 15.
The slide was near the U.S. Marine Corps Center and not far from the site of a major rockslide that occurred about month beforehand.
Southbound traffic wasn't affected.
