McCallie 67, Ooltewah 56
Jamaal Calvin and Jorden Williams combined to score 48 points and McCallie rallied in the second half to top Ooltewah 67-56 Friday night in the semifinals of the Times Free Press Best of Preps boys bracket at Chattanooga State.

The Blue Tornado will face arch rival Baylor in Saturday night's championship game. The Red Raiders routed Notre Dame 52-33 in the other semifinal.

The Owls raced out to a 29-21 halftime lead, but McCallie opened the second half on a 9-1 run to erase the deficit.

The two teams went back and forth into the fourth period until the Blue Tornado used a 10-3 run to take the lead for good. Williams picked up a loose ball and scored on a fast-break layup, then followed with a 3-pointer on the next possession to spark the surge.

Williams finished with 21 points, while Calvin led all scorers with 27.

Jacqueze Robinson led Ooltewah with 23 points.

Cleveland 50, Girls Preparatory School 27
There will be a new girls champion at the Best of Preps Tournament after Cleveland made quick work of two-time defending champ Girls Preparatory School in a 50-27 blowout in Friday's semifinals.

The Lady Raiders will face Baylor in Saturday night's championship at 7 p.m. ET. The boys' final will follow.

GPS took an early 2-0 lead when Briana Farris hit the game's first shot, but the Bruisers never led again. Cleveland closed the first period with a 20-0 run and led 30-13 at the break.

Three Lady Raiders finished in double figures, led by Norah Berry's 15 points. Sydnie Anderson added 13 points, and Shawnia Anderson chipped in 11.

Akia Harris led the Bruisers with 11 points.

Baylor 50, CCS 22
Baylor was able to overcome a slow start, but Chattanooga Christian never found its groove as the Lady Red Raiders ran away with a 50-22 win over CCS in the semifinals of the Best of Preps Tournament.

Baylor advances to play Cleveland in Saturday night's championship.

The Lady Red Raiders led just 7-4 after the first quarter, but pushed the lead to double-digits by halftime. Baylor then opened the third quarter with a 12-1 run and pushed its advantage to as many as 31 before cruising the rest of the way.

The Lady Chargers, who rallied from 20 points down in Thursday's win over CSAS, mustered just four points in the first quarter, five in the second and four more in the third while digging themselves a truly insurmountable hole.

Kaleigh Clemons led Baylor with 17 points before sitting out the fourth quarter. Abby Hubert added 15 in the win.
