LFO holds off rival Heritage, 52-45

FORT OGLETHORPE, Ga. (WRCB) -- Alex Rattanaxay scored 18 points to lead Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe to a 52-45 rivalry win over visiting Heritage Tuesday night.

The Warriors (4-5) trailed by four at the end of the first quarter, but outscored the Generals (4-5) 22-7 in the second period to take a 34-25 lead into the break.

Reggie Page hit three 3-pointers during an 11-2 run that gave LFO the lead for good. Page added 14 in the win.

The Warriors led by as many as 14 in the second half, but the Generals rallied to cut the lead to 47-43 on Cody Sanders' three-point play with just under four minutes to play. Sanders finished with 14 points to lead three Heritage players in double figures.

Jaylon Gaines and Cameron Sherlin added 11 apiece.

Rattanaxay, who scored 14 of his points in the first half, put the game away with a 4-for-4 effort from the free throw line in the final two minutes.
