CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Morning commuters on Interstate 24 eastbound got to spend some quiet time on the roadway Monday after a tractor trailer jack-knifed under the Seminole Drive overpass.
The accident blocked two lanes of the three-lane roadway, only allowing a few cars to squeeze past the wreckage. Traffic was backed up for over a mile.
The accident was one of several that snarled morning traffic Monday, complicated by wet roadways.
There were two accidents at the State Route 153 bridge over the Tennessee River, and another at the I-75/I-24 split during the morning rush hours.
The early afternoon fared no better, with additional accidents on I-24 eastbound at mile marker at 178 and another at the I-75/I-24 junction.
