LesserEvil Healthy Brands is on target to open the first ever food production facility in Danbury, CT by mid year 2013, housing jobs for ten to fifteen employees.

Danbury, CT (PRWEB) December 07, 2012

LesserEvil Healthy Brands Co. plans to open the first ever food production facility in Danbury, CT mid year 2013. LesserEvil will employee ten to fifteen workers to run the facility, creating new jobs for the residents of Danbury.

“Having our own production capabilities means we can control the environment for our product,” says President and CEO Charles Coristine. “Our first dream was to create an unmatched healthy snack product line. The next step is opening this state of the art facility that produces only our foods.”

The production facility will house machines that can pop and puff 1,650 pounds of popcorn per hour for the LesserEvil Fields Good Kettle Corn and Chia Pop, and will also produce a new line of Omega Smart nutrition bars—a high flax and fig bar that is gluten free and low glycemic.

“This facility allows us to come up with innovative new products, testing new bases and nutritional inclusions like flax, chia, quinoa, and kale,” says Coristine.

LesserEvil overcame a large hurdle in recent months by installing power capacity capable of running factory-grade poppers, tumblers and puffers. Danbury was not previously zoned for food production, and LesserEvil worked with the city for six months to get the power at the plant turned on.

The food production facility is on track to open mid next year, hoping to put the small city of Danbury on the map for something big.
