ATLANTA (AP) -- Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel is the unanimous choice for Associated Press Southeastern Conference offensive player of the year after a dynamic debut season.

The redshirt freshman known as "Johnny Football" passed for 3,419 yards and 24 touchdowns, rushed for 1,181 yards and 19 TDs, and guided Texas A&M to a 10-2 mark in its first SEC season, including an upset of Alabama.

Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones edged out South Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney for defensive player of the year. Jones leads the conference with 22.5 tackles behind the line and ranks second to Clowney with 12.5 sacks.

Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin is coach of the year, beating out Florida's Will Muschamp. Manziel is also freshman of the year and a unanimous choice as first-team quarterback.

Freshman running back Todd Gurley joined Jones as the only other Georgia player on the first team roster. Defensive lineman John Jenkins, linebacker Alec Ogletree and safety Baccari Rambo were all second-team selections.

Tennessee wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson was the only Vol on the first-team roster. He was selected as an all-purpose player after setting a single-season school record with more than 1,800 total yards.

Offensive linemen Dallas Thomas and Antonio Richardson, tight end Mychal Rivera and wide receiver Justin Hunter were all on the media's second team.

Alabama offensive linemen Barrett Jones and Chance Warmack, along with linebacker C.J. Mosley and defensive back Dee Milliner gave the Crimson Tide four first-team selections.

Quarterback A.J. McCarron and running back Eddie Lacy made the second team.
