LaFayette WalMart robbed by thief with tools

LAFAYETTE, GA (WRCB) -- A robber has hit the WalMart in LaFayette, GA, stealing about $400 in cash from a cash register. The robber used a hammer and other tools to pry open the cash drawer, as seen in the surveillance video.

Police says the robber has used the same technique at WalMarts in Chattanooga, Dalton, Fort Oglethorpe, La Fayette and other all the way to Marietta, GA.

WalMart says that the cost to repair the damaged cash registers is between $2,000 to $3,000 each.

The video, shot from several angles, shows a black male opening the cash registers.

The suspect is seen in the video driving a gold or brown Ford Taurus, with no hubcaps on the front. No license plate has been recorded; police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect.
