CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Chattanooga fire investigators are trying to determine how a vacant house in St. Elmo went up in flames Thursday night.
The call came in from the 5400 block of Glenn Falls around 6:40 p.m.
Spokesman Bruce Garner says the home's location on a steep hill made it difficult for firefighters battling the flames.
Garner says it took about an hour to put the fire out, and crews will remain on the scene for several more hours, to put out hot spots.
No one was injured.
Neighbors say the home recently became vacant.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
