Kevin Orr steps down as Soddy-Daisy football coach

Posted: Updated:

SODDY-DAISY, Tenn. (WRCB) -- Kevin Orr has resigned after four seasons as head football coach at Soddy-Daisy High School.

The veteran coach confirmed the move via text message after meeting with his team and assistant coaches Thursday afternoon.

"I loved my time here, but it was time," Orr said. "It's best for the program to move forward."

Orr went 18-24 with the Trojans after taking over for E.K. Slaughter in 2009.

Soddy-Daisy finished 7-5 in Orr's second season and advanced to the second round of the TSSAA state playoffs. However, the Trojans dipped to 4-6 and 2-8 the last two years.
