TULLAHOMA, TN. (AP) - Authorities in southern Middle Tennessee have arrested a man in the killing of a young woman whose body was found in rural Franklin County.
Police found the body of 23-year-old Kayla D. Qualls of Tullahoma in a sport utility vehicle on Monday morning and authorities said she had been struck in the head.
WSMV-TV (http://bit.ly/V4h9Vr ) reported authorities arrested the father of Qualls' boyfriend on Wednesday, charging him with murder. He is Michael L. Curtis and police said he is the grandfather of Qualls' two children. Authorities declined to elaborate about motive in the slaying.
Curtis is held in lieu of $1 million bond in the Coffee County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. It was not immediately clear if he yet had an attorney.
