New Ooltewah Elementary building underway

OOLTEWAH, HAMILTON CO., TN (WRCB) - A Hamilton County school will soon be a little less crowded.

Ground was broken Tuesday on the new elementary school.

Principal Tom Arnold says with more than 500 students, the school is already bursting at the seams.

He tells Channel 3 that teachers and parents are already excited about the move and, students are starting to understand what this means for them.

Ooltewah Elementary currently has 6 portable classrooms, including the school library.

The new Ooltewah Elementary is slated to open August 2013.
