Dalton Police Chief nabs robbery suspect during morning jog

Posted: Updated:

DALTON (WRCB) - Dalton's Police Chief says he reacted the way any officer would, when he chased down a suspected burglar on Thanksgiving.

Chief Jason Parker says he was jogging when he saw 48 year old Thomas Green carrying a large bin across a street.

Thinking that was suspicious, the chief watched Green as he entered an outbuilding of a home on Valley Drive and told neighbors to call police.

Green took off running when the chief confronted him.

Parker caught him a short distance later, and turned him over to officers.

Green is charged with burglary, theft and obstruction of an officer.
