Hamilton County (WRCB) -- A family auto repair business goes up in flames Saturday the Dallas Bay Area.
At 6:30 p.m., Steve Brown reported seeing a fire in his garage and attic at 1139 Lena Lane.
Brown told investigators he started warming the garage with a wood furnace before he started working on a customer's car. He went back into his apartment next door for 10 minutes when he heard a popping noise coming from the garage. He went outside and saw smoke in the garage and fire in the attic.
Dallas Bay Volunteer Chief Marcus Fritts says they had a hard time fighting the fire from the inside because there were several propane tanks exploding in the structure.
Soddy Daisy Fire Department, Red Bank Fire Department and Sequoyah VFD responded to the scene.
The cause of this fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
