DALTON, GA.
(WRCB) – The unemployment rate is down in the State of Georgia for October, except
for Dalton.
The preliminary unemployment rate in Dalton rose to 11.3
percent in October, up two-tenths of a percentage point from 11.1 percent in
September.
The rate increased because there were 123 more layoffs in
manufacturing, construction, trade, finance and insurance, administrative and
support services, healthcare and social assistance, and accommodations and food
services.
The rate was 12.9 percent in October 2011.
Georgia's unemployment rate declined to
8.7 percent in October, down three-tenths of a percentage point from 9.0
percent in September.
Statewide, there were 3,971,700 jobs in October, up 36,000,
or nine-tenths of a percentage point, from 3,935,700 in September.
