CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- A semi and minivan collide on Amnicola Highway, shutting down the southbound lanes for hours Monday night.
It happened shortly before 9:00 p.m. in front of the Raceway gas station in the 3400 block.
A dispatcher says the crash caused diesel fuel to spill on to the road.
Our crew on the scene says the driver of the minivan has a bandaged hand and bloody nose. He tells Channel 3 the semi pulled out in front him, causing him to hit the fuel tank.
A HazMat team is using a mix similar to cat litter to absorb the 150-gallon spill, and says cleanup could continue until morning rush hour.
The southbound lanes have reopened.
