Free parking for the holiday

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - The Chattanooga Parking Authority is giving you a break when parking downtown this Thanksgiving week.

On Thursday, Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday, you will not have to feed the meters to work, play or shop downtown.

Here is a list of the meter free holidays for 2013 year.

  • January 1, 2013 - New Year's Day
  • January  21, 2013 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • March 29, 2013 - Good Friday
  • May 27, 2013 - Memorial Day
  • July 4, 2013 - Independence Day
  • September 2, 2013 - Labor Day
  • December 25, 2013 - Christmas Day

Parking in areas such as bus or loading zone, yellow curb, no parking, handicap space, Fort Wood Residential District or other unlawful areas are enforceable 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
