BAYAMON, Puerto Rico (AP) - Marcus Smart and Le'Bryan Nash scored 17 points each as Oklahoma State beat Tennessee 62-45 on Friday to move into the championship game at the Puerto Rico Tipoff.
The Cowboys' defense stymied Tennessee, who shot just 26-percent (13-of-50) from the floor and 21.7-percent (5-of-23) behind the 3-point arc.
Trae Golden finished with 11 points to lead the Vols (2-1). He was the only UT player in double figures.
Smart, who also had nine rebounds, scored on a pair of layups and a 3-pointer during an 11-4 Cowboy run in the second half that put the game out of reach at 54-35 with under eight minutes to play. Markel Brown had 13 points for Oklahoma State (3-0).
Former East Ridge High star Philip Jurick, who originally signed signed and sat out a redshirt year at Tennessee, finished with six points and five rebounds for Oklahoma State while offering a tough matchup for Vols' post Jarnell Stokes.
Jurick, who made his first start of the season in place of the injured Jean-Paul Olukemi, had one block in 19 minutes and helped hold Stokes to just 2-of-8 shooting.
The matchups for Sunday's final and third-place games were to be determined later Friday by the outcome of No. 6 North Carolina State's game against UMass.
